THE FOUNDATION EVERYTHING ELSE BUILDS ON

Raise the Floor

The discipline for a life with fewer bad days. Free to read, all of it.
Don't ask how to have a better day. Ask how to have fewer bad days.
Raise the floor, and the average rises on its own. The peaks regress; the floor compounds.
The discipline
Raise the floor
Every important system in your life is cyclic. Chasing your high-water mark buys a stretch of weeks on the floor that drops the average more than the new ceiling raised it. You can't eliminate the floor. You can raise it.
You don't have to bowl more strikes. You just have to stop rolling gutter balls.
Bumpers & refusals
The first gap is where you are versus where you want to be. The second, which is often invisible, is between what you say you'll do and what you actually do. I refuse to negotiate with myself.
Less, not more
Two doses: the one that maintains, the one that changes. The gap between them is where most effort goes to die. Cut first; the addition takes care of itself.
One creates freedom, the other obligation.

Introduction · The Devil You Know

Imagine you're in a miserable relationship. Now imagine there are two doors before you. Behind door one is a five percent chance of being happier. Behind door two is the life you already know.

In theory, door one is the obvious answer. In reality, most people choose door two, because we prefer what is familiar even when we know it harms us.

The book is yours. Free.

Read it here, download it, whatever's easiest. No obligation, ever.

If you got something out of it, there's one thing that genuinely helps us back: grab a copy on Amazon and leave an honest review. I'll just tell you why. Amazon is one of the biggest engines we have for getting this work in front of new people, and reviews are what feed it. And I like the physical book being in your hands.

Either way, the book stays free. This is a favor, not a fee.
